Education and Background

I earned my degree in Counseling Psychology with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Francisco in 2012. I am a licensed therapist regulated by the Board of Behavioral Sciences in the state of California.

I am particularly passionate about helping individuals who are neurodivergent or have similar experiences. As a licensed professional with a disability, I understand the importance of actively listening to my client's stories and providing them with the necessary support to discover their inner strength, hope, and light.

During my spare time, I enjoy quality time with my family and two dogs. I find time to play the piano, sing Karaoke, and cook delicious meals for my family.

Professional Development

I began my career as a residential counselor for a group home that catered to individuals with Autism and developmental disabilities. Working closely with an LMFT and BCBA, I learned to create individualized treatment and behavior support plans. Later, in 2008, I was promoted to Program Manager for a group home, where I honed my supervisory skills under the guidance of a BCBA and Psychiatrist.

After a few years, I changed my career path and started working for mental health agencies. I spent over 3 years working in an inpatient and outpatient facility and a group home specializing in transitional-aged youths, acute care patients, and dual diagnosis.  As an ABA company's clinical director, I provided psychoeducation and counseling to caregivers to help children manage difficult emotions and cope with stressors while fostering meaningful interactions. I have over 10 years of experience counseling and educating people affected by depression, anxiety, eating disorders, learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, Autism, and ADHD. My experience spans across all levels of development and age groups, ranging from 18 months to 67 years of age.

The 3 E's

Education

At Antolyn Rosales Therapy, education forms the cornerstone of our therapeutic approach. I believe in imparting essential skills, providing psychoeducation, and offering guidance using a unique blend of evidence-based strategies. Drawing from diverse fields such as developmental psychology, counseling psychology, and behavioral analysis, I strive to enhance role fulfillment and improve relationships within the family system. This comprehensive educational approach empowers my clients, enabling them to navigate their emotional landscape with confidence and competence.

Encouragement

In addition to education, encouragement is a vital part of my approach at Antolyn Rosales Therapy. I understand that learning is a continuous process and applying new skills can be challenging. Therefore, I emphasize fostering an environment of positive reinforcement where clients are encouraged to practice their newly acquired skills daily. I provide supportive feedback and celebrate each milestone along the journey, reinforcing the belief that consistency leads to progress. This nurturing atmosphere fuels motivation and helps clients manifest change in their everyday lives.

Empowerment

The final and equally crucial pillar of my therapeutic approach at Antolyn Rosales Therapy is empowerment. Empowerment transcends beyond acquiring knowledge and skills; it involves the transformation of one's sense of self. I strive to help my clients regain control of their lives and boost their self-confidence. I aim to ignite an inner conviction to take matters into their own hands and to instigate positive outcomes. By nurturing this sense of personal power, I endeavor to foster resilience and self-efficacy in our clients. The ultimate goal is to empower them to reach their utmost potential and thrive in their journey towards well-being. This process of empowerment is not just about overcoming challenges, but also about flourishing and transforming lives.
